General Requirements & Rabies Titer Test
To travel internationally with a pet (cat or dog), most strict destinations—such as the European Union, the UK, Japan, Australia, and the UAE—require a Rabies Antibody Titer Test (RNATT). This test proves that the animal's rabies vaccine is active and effective.
📋 Step-by-Step Process
Microchipping: The pet must be microchipped with an ISO 11784/11785 compliant chip before the rabies vaccination.
Vaccination: The pet must receive a valid rabies vaccine.
The 30-Day Waiting Period: Blood for the titer test must be drawn at least 30 days after the vaccination date.
Approved Laboratory: The blood sample must be analyzed by an officially accredited laboratory recognized by the destination country.
Passing Result: The antibody level must be at least 0.5 IU/ml or higher.
