The first night home
A quiet start helps a kitten settle. Use the individual care instructions supplied with your kitten.
- Set up a safe, quiet room with a place to hide.
- Offer the familiar food and fresh water; place the litter tray away from food and water.
- Let the kitten explore at its own pace and keep handling gentle.
- Watch eating, drinking, toileting and behaviour. If the kitten seems unwell or is not eating, contact a veterinarian promptly.
- After seven days, tell us how settling in is going. After thirty days, you may share a story or photo for Journey Home with your permission.
